The National Honor Society is happy to announce that they've expanded tutoring availability to include a permanent study hall tutor table.   They are set up in the cafeteria during every study hall period. You don't need to sign up or be referred to use this free service.  If you are in study hall and could use a little extra help just head over to the tutoring table! Teachers- if you'd like your student to work with an NHS tutor during their study hall please encourage and remind them of this service in your classes.

SENIORS:  The West Geauga Education Association is offering a scholarship.  Applicants must be pursuing a career in education, or be the son or daughter of an educator.  Preference will be given to applicants pursuing a career in education.  Academic achievement, community involvement, and activities will also be considered.  Applications are due March 11.  See your school counselor for more information.

Attention Seniors!

Are you interested in completing your senior internship with the Geauga Courts?

If so, please check the School Counseling Class of 2022 google classroom for an application.  Two students from West G will have the opportunity to learn more about our local court system.  Please send completed applications or questions to Mary Ruth Shumway - MShumway@geaugacourts.org.

Our West Geauga ADL is planning our next project which will address the unfortunate racism and prejudices amidst everyday life. This will also be one way we can recognize Black History month. If you are a member of a minority race or religion and are willing to share about your experience, we want to hear your voice.

What is something you experience as a minority that those not in that group either do not understand or choose to not understand? Responses will be read by ADL members in a video that will air sometime during February. This will be anonymous unless someone does not want to be.

Statements can be given to Mr. Teare (room 130), Mrs. Crossman (room 104), Mrs. Porter, or to the ADL member that will be in lunches TH & F.

In celebration of National Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17th), Student Council is hosting our second annual WGHS Kindness Week.

Next week will include a Spirit Week and Kindness Challenge as well as the opportunity to win prizes for participating.  We will kick off the week with a Spirit Week.  On Monday the theme is Love to be Kind (Celebrate Valentine's Day by wearing Red, Pink, & White).

The Kindness Challenge will challenge you to complete as many kind deeds as you can in one week. Completing the challenges  will get you entered into the drawing for a chance to win a Kindness T-Shirt!
