Congratulations girls and boys track on your impressive CVC finishes this week. The boys finished 3rd (only 2pts. out of 2nd place), and the girls finished 2nd (only 10pts. aways from CVC rival Chagrin Falls).

There were MANY amazing performances from both teams!

A special congrats goes out to the following:

Shannon Swinerton took first place in the Discus with a throw of nearly 110ft., and the 4x100meter relay team of Grace Laster, Gabby Gudger, Bailey Zanella, and Aubrey Zanella won their event as well.

Grace Gyetko had one of the BEST performances of the meet by breaking a 20yr. old record in the 2mile run with a blistering time of 11:26 and finishing in 3rd place!!

Good luck at Districts next Wed. and Friday.

In sports news:

Lino Valletta was brilliant on the mound on Tuesday, as Valletta threw a no-hitter to lead Wolverines past Orange 5-0.  Wolverines opened up scoring in the second inning, when an error scored one.  Valletta led the Wolverines to victory on the hill. The lefty lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 17.  Cam Rogal went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits. The boys didn't commit a single error in the field. Anthony Formichelli had two chances in the field, the most on the team.

Way to go Wolverine baseball!

The Lady Wolverines defeated Crestwood, the number one CVC team, 3-2. Shea Malone doubled in the top of the fifth to tie things up at two. Then, at the top of the sixth, Keira Williams doubled, scoring Julia Clark, which would end up becoming the winning run. Frankee Flesher and Malone each managed multiple hits for the Lady Wolverines.
Haley Ottman and Jocelyn Moores tag-teamed on the mound, helping secure the team win. The Lady Wolverines are now in the running for the CVC title! Congratulations, ladies!
