Applications for NHS have been sent out.  If you met the qualifying threshold you should have received an envelope with the forms that need to be filled out and turned in.  You should have also received an email with a digital copy of these forms.  If you have any questions about the process please contact the NHS Advisor, Mr. Rader.  All forms should be completed and returned to Mr. Rader in room 105 or the main office mailbox no later than the end of the school day Monday November 1st.


The senior class is holding a fundraiser at Pulp in Chesterland on Saturday, November 6 from 9am to 9pm! Go and support them by visiting and let the cashier know at check out you are there for the WGHS Class of 2022.

In sports news, Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team - they finished second at Districts and qualified to run at Regionals this Saturday - Leading the Wolverines was Danny Kearns (5th), Matt Dienes (7th), Chris Whiting (17th), Grant Congdon (21st), John Mikes (22nd), Lorenzo Linek (29th) and Dakota Deets (44th) Good Luck at Regionals!

Boys Basketball starts Friday.  Any boys that are interested in playing this year must attend tryouts on tomorrow from 5:30-7:30 and October 30th from 10:00-12:30 in the main gym.  If you have any questions you can contact Head Coach Fisher.

Youth to Youth, a youth-led program in Geauga County, focuses on drug education, prevention, and educating our classmates on the long-term, negative effects of substance use. Youth to Youth is looking for students who consistently do the right thing and are committed to spreading awareness.


Be sure to also check for scholarships. They are arriving daily and a great way to help pay for college.

The annual Northeast Ohio Suburban College Fair will be held at John Carroll University on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Over 100 colleges and universities will be there!  Come to the school counseling office for more information.

 

Internship opportunity!  The Jane Timken for Ohio campaign is looking for student interns.  This is the best way to gain political experience before graduation and start building valuable connections in the field.  Any student who completes the internship will receive a letter of recommendation from the campaign.  Today is the last day to apply.  Please come to the school counseling office for more information.

 

The National Honor Society is happy to announce that they will begin hosting a coat drive in partnership with Coats For Kids Cleveland! The goal for the coat drive is to collect new or lightly worn coats that will be given directly to those in need in the Cleveland area. 

 

Attention anyone interested in wrestling.  Optional morning workouts are Tuesday and Thursday, 6-7am for anyone who might want to join.  Open mats will be starting soon.

The National Honor Society is happy to announce that they will begin hosting a coat drive in partnership with Coats For Kids Cleveland! The goal for the coat drive is to collect new or lightly worn coats that will be given directly to those in need in the Cleveland area.

Attention All Students who drive to school:  Yesterday, administrators checked the parking lot and there were many students who do not have valid parking permits. If you received a pink slip on your car please see Mr. Puskas ASAP. You will need to apply for a permit using the Google form. Once the fee is paid through IC, you can stop in the main office to pick up your permit. Students should not park in the North Staff lot as well as along the building in the South lot where staff parking is.


Seniors!  Scholarship applications are starting to arrive!  The newest is the Wolverine Gridiron Club Scholarship - applications are due by October 30th.  Make sure you check in Naviance and the school counseling office for any new scholarships!


The annual Northeast Ohio Suburban College Fair will be held at John Carroll University on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Over 100 colleges and universities will be there!  Come to the school counseling office for more information.

 

Internship opportunity!  The Jane Timken for Ohio campaign is looking for student interns.  This is the best way to gain political experience before graduation and start building valuable connections in the field.  And any student who completes the internship will receive a letter of recommendation from the campaign.  Please come to the school counseling office for more information.

 

Reminder, there will be the next meeting for the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) club on Tuesday, October 5thfor both 5A and 5B. Go to room 124, the lecture room. All are welcome-feel free to bring your lunch and sign out with your advisory teachers first if coming 5A. 

 

The National Honor Society is happy to announce that they will begin hosting a coat drive in partnership with Coats For Kids Cleveland on Monday next week! The goal for the coat drive is to collect new or lightly worn coats that will be given directly to those in need in the Cleveland area. The coat drive will last for two weeks from October 4th-15th.
